For a Danish customer an urgent repair was performed within 24 hours on an Auxiliary Generator on board of a Norwegian tanker in the port of Rotterdam.
On the auxiliary generator one of the rotor winding tails had moved outwards due to the centrifugal forces. Luckily the tail didn't not touch the stator windings, although the keys of the stator windings were touched already.
In close consultation with our customer, it was decided to remove the Non Drive End bearing cover and to fixate the tail again.Besides the one tail which was clearly moved, our Service Engineer fixated the other three tails as well. After repairing the generator, our Service Engineer reassembled and tested the Auxiliary Generator.
The repair was finished within a day and the vessel left the Port of Rotterdam according to schedule.
