Attero Wijster has given Bakker Repair + Services the order to perform a thorough inspection on their 50 MW generator as a part of a preventive maintenance stop. The goal is to maximize the reliability and availability of the generator for the coming years. This project is a continuation of other successful inspections of the generator.
The generator, which has a crucial role in the incineration plant, will receive a level four generator inspection. This is the most extensive inspection that can be conducted on a generator. The level four inspection consists of the following inspections:
Faults that are detected will be discussed with Attero Wijster to see if it is possible to repair them within the current preventive maintenance stop, maximizing reliability and availability of the generator.
During the preventive maintenance stop, Bakker Repair + Services will be installing measurement equipment that enables online partial discharge measurement. By measuring the partial discharge of windings during operation and comparing it to similar equipment, it is possible to monitor the condition of crucial elements of the generator. The information from the online partial discharge measurement allows Attero Wijster to act timely in case the condition of the generator deteriorates, minimizing unexpected downtime.
