Bakker Repair + Services repaired the propulsion motor of a suction hopper dredger in Buenos Aires which had commutation problems.
In order to repair the commutation problems of the DC propulsion motor, rotor had to be replaced by a spare rotor. This spare rotor was already rewinded in our winding shop in the past and stored by the customer. Replacing the rotor aboard the ship was a big challenge because the 28 tons weighing rotors had to be maneuvered around the ship.
Bakker Repair + Services conducted a full electrical inspection on the DC propulsion motor and also disconnected and reconnected the motor to full satisfaction of our customer.
